A higher partial derivative of a function of several variables is a [[partial derivative|09EGC6F8PT]] of a partial derivative, taken one or more times.
A second partial derivative such as $\partial^2 f / \partial y \, \partial x$, in which the two variables differ, is called a mixed partial derivative.
