Cyclotomic trace

Summary

The cyclotomic trace is a natural map K(R)→TC(R)K(R) \to TC(R) from the algebraic K-theory spectrum of a ring to its topological cyclic homology. It was constructed by Bökstedt, Hsiang and Madsen. It refines the Dennis trace map and its topological version K(R)→THH(R)K(R) \to THH(R). For nilpotent extensions it detects relative K-theory exactly, which makes it the main tool for computing K-groups of local and pp-adic rings.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
