Differential geometry Minimal and constant mean curvature surfaces Example
Enneper surface
Example
For , let Its image is the Enneper surface. It is a minimal surface.
Check. The partial derivatives are and . A direct computation gives and , so is a conformal immersion. The second derivatives are and , so . For a conformal parametrization this means that the mean curvature vanishes.
Remarks
In the Weierstrass–Enneper parameterization, this surface has data and on , with . The surface is complete, but it is not embedded: it intersects itself. Its Gauss map is the inverse stereographic projection of , which covers the sphere once except for one point, so its total curvature is .

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
