Flow of a vector field

Summary

A flow is a family of maps φt\varphi_t of a space to itself, indexed by real time tt. The map φ0\varphi_0 is the identity, and φs∘φt=φs+t\varphi_s \circ \varphi_t = \varphi_{s+t}. The flow of a vector field sends each point to the position, after time tt, of the solution of x′=f(x)x' = f(x) through it. See the definition.

What this node needs for W2
  • edge instance_of in: at least two examples (0 of 2)
  • edge not_instance_of in: at least one non-example (0 of 1)
  • edge specializes both: the more general notions and the special cases (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a node is. They do not measure its truth.
