Mechanics of deformable solids Plasticity Concept
Flow plasticity theory
Summary
Flow plasticity theory describes plasticity by rates. It gives the rate of plastic strain in terms of the current stress, its rate and the state of hardening. Its ingredients are a yield surface, a flow rule for the direction of plastic flow, a hardening law, and loading and unloading conditions. Unlike deformation theories, it makes the response depend on the loading path, which matches the behaviour of real metals.
