Ginzburg–Landau equation

Summary

The Ginzburg–Landau equations describe a superconductor through a complex order parameter ψ\psi and a magnetic vector potential AA. They are the Euler–Lagrange equations of the Ginzburg–Landau energy, which penalises variations of ψ\psi, deviations of ∣ψ∣\abs{\psi} from 11, and magnetic energy. The quantity ∣ψ∣2\abs{\psi}^2 measures the density of superconducting electrons. Their solutions include vortices, points or lines around which ψ\psi winds and where ∣ψ∣\abs{\psi} vanishes.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
