Gradient wind
Summary
The gradient wind is a steady horizontal wind that blows along curved isobars. In it the pressure gradient force, the Coriolis force and the centrifugal force balance. It refines the geostrophic wind by including the curvature of the flow. Around a low the gradient wind is weaker than the geostrophic wind, and around a high it is stronger.
