Horizontal coordinate system
Summary
The horizontal coordinate system is the celestial coordinate system of a local observer, built on the horizon. Its coordinates are the altitude, the angle above the horizon, and the azimuth, the compass direction along the horizon. It describes what an observer actually sees, and it changes with the place and the time.
