Komar mass
Summary
The Komar mass is a definition of the mass of a stationary spacetime, given by Komar in 1959. It is the integral over a closed 2-surface of the derivative of the timelike Killing vector field of the spacetime. In a vacuum region the integral does not depend on the surface, so the mass can be measured on any sphere enclosing the sources. It agrees with the ADM mass for stationary asymptotically flat vacuum spacetimes. The same construction with a rotational Killing field gives the Komar angular momentum.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
