M-matrix

Summary

An M-matrix is a real square matrix of the form sI−BsI - B, where BB is a nonnegative matrix. The number ss must be at least the spectral radius of BB. Since BB has no negative entry, the entries of an M-matrix off the diagonal are nonpositive. Such matrices appear when a linear system is discretised, in economic input-output models and in Markov chains. A nonsingular M-matrix has an inverse with all entries nonnegative, so it turns nonnegative data into nonnegative solutions.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
