Maximal element
Definition
Let be a partially ordered set and let be a subset of . An element is a maximal element of when no satisfies . Equivalently, for each , implies .
Remarks
A maximal element need not be the greatest element, and a set can have several maximal elements. In under , the maximal elements are and . Zorn's lemma gives maximal elements in many infinite posets.
Explanations
L1 human
A maximal element has nothing above it. It may still be incomparable with other elements, so it is not necessarily above everything.
What this node needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a node is. They do not measure its truth.
