McKay graph

Summary

In mathematics, the McKay graph of a finite-dimensional representation VV of a finite group GG is a weighted quiver encoding the structure of the representation theory of GG. Each node represents an irreducible representation of GG. If χi,χj\chi_{i}, \chi_{j} are irreducible representations of GG, then there is an arrow from χi\chi_{i} to χj\chi_{j} if and only if χj\chi_{j} is a constituent of the tensor product V⊗χi.V\otimes\chi_i. Then the weight nijn_{ij} of the arrow is the number of times this constituent appears in V⊗χi.V \otimes\chi_i. For finite subgroups HH of GL(2,ℂ),\text{GL}(2, \mathbb{C}), the McKay graph of HH is the McKay graph of the defining 2-dimensional representation of HH.
