Mersenne number

Definition

For a natural number nn, the nn-th Mersenne number is Mn=2n−1M_n = 2^n - 1.

Remarks

The first values are M1=1M_1 = 1, M2=3M_2 = 3, M3=7M_3 = 7, M4=15M_4 = 15 and M5=31M_5 = 31. In binary, MnM_n is written with nn digits 11. Some texts call MnM_n a Mersenne number only when nn is prime. A Mersenne number that is prime is a Mersenne prime.

Explanations

L1 human

A Mersenne number is one less than a power of 22. For example, 210−1=10232^{10} - 1 = 1023, which is 11111111111111111111 in binary.

What this node needs for W1
  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a node is. They do not measure its truth.

What depends on this

4 nodes use this node, directly or through other nodes.
