Natural duality

Summary

A natural duality represents each algebra in the quasivariety generated by a finite algebra MM. The algebra becomes an algebra of continuous structure-preserving maps on a topological structure. The dual of an algebra AA is the set of homomorphisms from AA to MM. It is viewed inside a power of a topological structure M∼\underset{\sim}{M} on the same set as MM. Stone duality for Boolean algebras and Priestley duality for bounded distributive lattices are the model cases. The theory gives general conditions under which such a duality exists. It also tells when the duality is a dual equivalence of categories, a Stone-type duality.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
