Normal distribution

Summary

The normal distribution with mean μ\mu and variance σ2\sigma^2 is the continuous distribution on R\mathbb{R} with the bell-shaped density 12πσ2e−(x−μ)2/(2σ2)\frac{1}{\sqrt{2\pi\sigma^2}} e^{-(x-\mu)^2/(2\sigma^2)}. By the central limit theorem, it is the approximate law of a sum of many small independent effects. The node normal distribution gives the precise definition.

What this node needs for W2
  • edge instance_of in: at least two examples (1 of 2)
  • edge not_instance_of in: at least one non-example (0 of 1)
  • edge specializes both: the more general notions and the special cases (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a node is. They do not measure its truth.
