Order polytope

Summary

The order polytope of a finite poset PP is the set of functions f ⁣:P→[0,1]f \colon P \to [0, 1] that are order-preserving, seen as points of ℝP\R^P. It is a convex polytope with integer vertices, namely the indicator functions of the upper sets of PP. Its volume is the number of linear extensions of PP divided by ∣P∣!\abs{P}!, and its lattice point counts are given by the order polynomial. It was introduced by Richard Stanley, together with the chain polytope of the poset.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
