proof

Proof that the order of an element divides the order of the group

Proof

  1. Let GG be a finite group and let g∈Gg \in G.
  2. The cyclic subgroup ⟨g⟩\langle g \rangle is a subgroup of GG.
  3. The order of ⟨g⟩\langle g \rangle is the order of gg.
  4. By Lagrange's theorem, ∣⟨g⟩∣|\langle g \rangle| divides ∣G∣|G|.
  5. Thus the order of gg divides ∣G∣|G|.

Idea

The element generates a subgroup whose order is the order of the element. Lagrange's theorem then gives the result.

What this node needs for W1
  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a node is. They do not measure its truth.

What depends on this

4 nodes use this node, directly or through other nodes.
