Rayleigh–Plesset equation
Summary
The Rayleigh–Plesset equation is an ordinary differential equation for the radius of a spherical bubble in a large body of liquid. It describes how the bubble grows, shrinks and oscillates when the pressure in the liquid changes. It includes the inertia of the liquid, its viscosity and surface tension. It is the basic model of bubble dynamics in cavitation and in medical ultrasound.
