Summation of families over arbitrary index sets

Summary

Let (xi)i∈I(x_i)_{i \in I} be a family indexed by an arbitrary set II. It is summable when its finite partial sums approach a limit as the finite set of indices grows. This notion of sum uses no order on II, so it works for index sets such as ℕ×ℕ\N \times \N, ℤ\Z or uncountable sets. For real or complex terms indexed by ℕ\N, summability is the same as absolute convergence. The exact definition is in summable family.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
