Surface of general type

Summary

A surface of general type is an algebraic surface of Kodaira dimension 22, the largest possible value. Its pluricanonical systems ∣nK∣\abs{nK} grow as fast as possible, quadratically in nn. Most surfaces are of this type, for example all smooth surfaces of degree at least 55 in ℙ3\mathbb{P}^3. Unlike the other classes in the Enriques–Kodaira classification, they are not classified in detail. Their study centres on inequalities between invariants and on their moduli spaces.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
