Torus knot

Summary

A torus knot is a knot that lies on the surface of a standard unknotted torus in space. For coprime integers pp and qq, the torus knot T(p,q)T(p, q) winds pp times around the axis of the torus and qq times around its tube. Torus knots form one of the three classes in Thurston's division of knots into torus, satellite and hyperbolic knots. Many invariants of torus knots can be computed exactly.
