Transit light curve
Summary
A transit light curve is the brightness of a star as a function of time while a planet passes in front of it. It shows a small dip whose depth gives the ratio of the planet radius to the star radius. The shape and duration of the dip constrain the orbit. The transit method has found most of the known exoplanets.
