Triple point
Summary
A triple point of a substance is a temperature and pressure at which three of its phases coexist in equilibrium. In the phase diagram it is a point where three coexistence curves meet. By the Gibbs phase rule it is isolated, so it is a fixed and reproducible state. The solid–liquid–vapour triple point of water served to define the kelvin until 2019.
