Twelvefold way
Summary
The twelvefold way is a table of twelve basic counting problems, see the definition. Each problem counts maps from a finite set to a finite set . The maps may be arbitrary, injective or surjective. They may be counted as they are, or up to permutations of , of , or of both. The twelve answers bring together powers, falling factorials, binomial coefficients, Stirling numbers of the second kind and integer partitions.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
