Wiman–Valiron theory

Summary

Wiman–Valiron theory studies a transcendental entire function through the largest term of its Taylor series on each circle ∣z∣=r\abs{z} = r. The index of this maximal term, the central index ν(r)\nu(r), grows to infinity with rr. Near points where ∣f∣\abs{f} attains its maximum on the circle, ff behaves like the single monomial aν(r)zν(r)a_{\nu(r)} z^{\nu(r)}, outside a small exceptional set of radii. A main application is to the growth of entire solutions of linear differential equations with polynomial coefficients.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
