Definition
Let be a nonempty set. For , let be the set of all -ary operations , and let . A clone on is a subset such that:
- contains every projection with .
- is closed under composition: if is -ary and are -ary, then the -ary operation is in .
Remarks
Example: the set of all operations on with integer coefficients is a clone. Check: has and the other , and substituting linear forms into a linear form gives a linear form. Non-example: the set of all operations on , one for each , together with all projections, is not a clone. It contains , so a composition gives , which is not in the set. The set of all term operations of an algebra is the smallest clone containing , the clone generated by . Some authors also allow nullary operations in clones.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
