CMB angular power spectrum
Summary
The angular power spectrum of the cosmic microwave background gives the strength of its temperature fluctuations on each angular scale on the sky. It is the sequence of variances of the coefficients of the temperature map in spherical harmonics. Its peaks, produced by sound waves before recombination, fix many cosmological parameters with high precision.
