Complete atomic Boolean algebra
Definition
Let be a Boolean algebra. An atom of is an element such that there is no with . The algebra is a complete atomic Boolean algebra if:
- is a complete Boolean algebra.
- is atomic: for every in there is an atom with .
Remarks
If is complete and atomic, with set of atoms , then is an isomorphism from onto the power set of . So the complete atomic Boolean algebras are, up to isomorphism, the power set algebras.
Example: the power set of a set . It is complete, and every nonempty contains a singleton , which is an atom.
Non-example: the algebra of regular open sets of is complete but has no atom at all. Every nonempty regular open set contains an open interval, which contains two disjoint smaller open intervals, and these are regular open and strictly smaller. So clause 2 fails.
In Mathlib the notion is CompleteAtomicBooleanAlgebra.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
