Composition series
Definition
Let be a group. A composition series of is a subnormal series in which each factor is a simple group.
Remarks
Equivalently, the inclusions are strict and each is a maximal proper normal subgroup of . Each finite group has a composition series, but the group has none. For example, and are composition series.
Explanations

A composition series cuts a group into layers that cannot be cut further. Each layer is a simple group. It is like the factorisation of an integer into prime numbers.
What this node needs for W2
- edge instance_of in: one example (0 of 1)
- edge not_instance_of in: one non-example that fails one clause (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a node is. They do not measure its truth.
