Definition
Let be a complete lattice, and let be the way-below relation on . The lattice is continuous if every satisfies where denotes the supremum.
Remarks
Since implies , the condition says that is not larger than the supremum of the elements way below it. Example: with the usual order, where if and only if or . For the supremum of is , and for the set has supremum . Example: every algebraic lattice is continuous, because each compact satisfies . Non-example: the lattice of closed subsets of under inclusion is complete. But is the only element way below , so is not the supremum of the elements way below it. A complete lattice is continuous if and only if for every family of directed subsets, where runs over the choice functions with .

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
