Drazin inverse
Builds on Square matrixRank of a matrixField
Definition
Let be a field and let be an square matrix over . The index of is the least integer such that , where is the rank and . The Drazin inverse of is the matrix over such that, with the index of :
- .
- .
- .
There is exactly one matrix with these three properties.
Remarks
Example: if is invertible, its index is , and ; indeed , , and commutes with . Example: if is nilpotent with for its index , then ; each side of each condition is then , because . Non-example: for , of index , the matrix is not , because and differ, so clause 3 fails. If with invertible and nilpotent, then . When the index is at most , the Drazin inverse is called the group inverse and written .

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
