Edge set

Definition

Let GG be a graph with vertex set VV and adjacency relation ∼\sim. The edge set of GG is the set E(G)={{u,v}:u,v∈V, u∼v}E(G) = \{ \{u, v\} : u, v \in V,\ u \sim v \} of unordered pairs of adjacent vertices.

Remarks

Each edge is a 22-element subset of VV, because ∼\sim is irreflexive. The number of edges ∣E(G)∣|E(G)| is the size of GG, and the number of vertices ∣V∣|V| is its order. The handshaking lemma relates ∣E(G)∣|E(G)| to the degrees of the vertices.

Explanations

L1 human

The edge set is the list of all lines of the graph, with each line given by its two end points. A triangle on the vertices a,b,ca, b, c has the edge set {{a,b},{b,c},{a,c}}\{\{a, b\}, \{b, c\}, \{a, c\}\}.

What this node needs for W1
  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a node is. They do not measure its truth.

What this needs

To read this node, read these 2 nodes in this order. The foundations come first, and the list ends with this node.

Each node uses the nodes above it. The colour of the bar on a box shows the evidence level, and the box also gives it as text. The list below has the same nodes.
  • no evidence level

  2. Edge set definition

What depends on this

3 nodes use this node, directly or through other nodes.
