Erdős–Rényi model
Definition
Let be an integer and let be the set of all simple graphs with vertex set . Let be the number of pairs of distinct vertices; see binomial coefficient.
- For , the model is the probability measure on giving each graph with edges the probability .
- For an integer with , the model is the uniform probability measure on the set of graphs in with exactly edges.
Remarks
In the events "the pair is an edge" are independent, each of probability . So the number of edges has the binomial distribution with parameters and , and its mean is .
Example: for and , every graph on has probability , and these values sum to .
Non-example: on , choosing the triangle with probability and the empty graph with probability is not for any . Its edge probability is , but the three edge events are not independent, since the graph with one edge has probability .
A random graph from these models is also written or . For near the two models behave in a similar way.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
