Definition
Let be a set and let be a filter on . Let be a topological space, let be a map, and let . The map tends to along , and is a limit of along , if for every neighbourhood of .
Remarks
Equivalently, the image filter converges to .
Example: on let be the filter of sets that contain for some ; in Mathlib this is Filter.atTop.
A sequence tends to along exactly when for every neighbourhood of there is with for all .
This is the usual convergence of a sequence.
Non-example: the sequence in has no limit along this filter. For , some neighbourhood of misses , so its preimage misses all even numbers and contains no tail. For , the preimage of is the set of even numbers, which contains no tail either.
Example: for , the sets with a neighbourhood of generate a filter on , and the limit along it is the usual limit .
If is Hausdorff and , then has at most one limit along .

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
