Froude number
Summary
The Froude number is the dimensionless number that compares the inertia of a flow with gravity. It governs flows with a free surface, such as rivers, open channels and the waves made by ships. In shallow water it is the ratio of the flow speed to the speed of long surface waves, so separates two different regimes.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
