Graph enumeration
Builds on GraphGraph isomorphism
Definition
Let be a class of finite simple graphs that is closed under isomorphism. For an integer :
- The labelled count is the number of graphs in with vertex set .
- The unlabelled count is the number of isomorphism classes of graphs in with vertices.
Graph enumeration is the study of the functions and : exact formulas, generating functions and asymptotic behaviour as .
Remarks
Example: for the class of all graphs, , since each of the pairs is an edge or not. For this gives , while , one class for each number of edges .
Non-example: the class of graphs in which and are adjacent is not closed under isomorphism, so it has no unlabelled count.
Always , because an isomorphism class contains at most graphs on . For all graphs, is asymptotic to , because almost all graphs have no nontrivial automorphism.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
