Inner function
Summary
An inner function is a bounded holomorphic function on the unit disc whose boundary values have modulus almost everywhere on the circle. Inner functions are one half of the inner-outer factorization of functions in Hardy spaces. They describe the closed subspaces of that are invariant under the shift, by Beurling's theorem.
