Definition
Let be a lattice with order . An element is join-prime if:
- is not a least element of ;
- for all , if , then or .
Remarks
Every join-prime element is join-irreducible: if , then or , and since this gives or . In a distributive lattice the converse holds: if is join-irreducible and , then , so or . Example: in the power set of a set, a singleton is join-prime, since implies or . Non-example: in the diamond lattice , where , , are pairwise incomparable and the join of any two of them is , the element is join-irreducible. It is not join-prime, because while and . Meet-prime elements are defined dually.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
