Kleene's T predicate

Summary

Kleene's T predicate is a primitive recursive relation T(e,x,c)T(e, x, c) about computations. It says that cc codes a halting computation of the program with index ee on input xx. Together with a primitive recursive function UU that reads off the output, it gives Kleene's normal form theorem. Every partial computable function has the form x↦U(μc T(e,x,c))x \mapsto U(\mu c \, T(e, x, c)) for some ee. So a single unbounded search is enough for any computation.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
