Kolmogorov backward equation

Summary

The Kolmogorov backward equation is a parabolic partial differential equation satisfied by expectations u(t,x)=E[f(Xt)∣X0=x]u(t, x) = E[f(X_t) \mid X_0 = x] of a diffusion process. Its operator is the infinitesimal generator of the diffusion, acting on the starting point xx. It links stochastic differential equations with partial differential equations and is the basis of many probabilistic formulas for solutions of such equations.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
