Definition
Let be a sequence of complex numbers. The Lambert series of is the series considered as a function of the complex variable . Only the points with where the series converges are considered.
Remarks
If and converges absolutely, then the Lambert series converges absolutely and Check: , and , so the double series may be regrouped by . Example: for , the coefficient of is the number of divisors , so . Example: for , the Möbius function, the divisor sums vanish for , so . Example: for , Euler's totient function, the divisor sum of the totient is , so the Lambert series is . Non-example of convergence: for and , the terms satisfy , which tends to , so the series diverges.
