Light cone
Summary
The light cone of an event is the set of events that a flash of light emitted at, or arriving at, that event can reach. In Minkowski space it is the double cone of null vectors through the event. It splits spacetime into the future, the past and the elsewhere of the event, and so encodes which events can influence which.
