Loewner order
Builds on Hermitian matrixPositive semidefinite matrixPositive definite matrixPartial order
Definition
Let and let and be Hermitian matrices. Then in the Loewner order if is positive semidefinite. Also if is positive definite.
Remarks
The relation is a partial order. It is transitive because sums of positive semidefinite matrices are positive semidefinite. It is antisymmetric because a matrix that is both positive semidefinite and negative semidefinite is . Example: , because the difference has eigenvalues and . Non-example: , because the difference has the eigenvalue ; the converse fails too, so the order is not total. The order does not respect squares: for and , , but has determinant . On the other hand, implies .

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
