Logarithmic capacity
Builds on Compact setProbability measure
Definition
Let be a compact set in . For a Borel probability measure on , its logarithmic energy is The Robin constant of is , the infimum over all Borel probability measures on . The logarithmic capacity of is , with when .
Remarks
Example: for the closed disc or the circle of radius , the minimizing measure is normalized arc length on the circle of radius , and . For a segment of length , . A finite set has : every probability measure on has an atom, and an atom of mass at contributes to . Let be connected with more than one point, and let its complement in the Riemann sphere be simply connected. Let be the conformal map of onto with . Near it has the form with , and then , the outer conformal radius of . By theorems of Fekete and Szegő, the capacity also equals the transfinite diameter of and its Chebyshev constant.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
