Markov chain Monte Carlo
Summary
Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) is a family of methods to sample from a probability distribution . They run a Markov chain whose stationary distribution is . Averages of a function along the path of the chain then estimate the expectation of that function under . MCMC works even when is known only up to a normalising constant, which makes it a basic tool of Bayesian statistics and statistical physics. The Metropolis–Hastings algorithm and the Gibbs sampler are the main examples.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
