Matter power spectrum

Summary

The matter power spectrum P(k)P(k) measures how strongly the density of matter in the universe fluctuates on the length scale 2π/k2\pi/k. It is the Fourier transform of the two-point correlation of the density contrast. It is the main statistic that links theories of the early universe with the observed structure formation of galaxies and clusters.
