Definition
Fix a temporal logic , such as linear temporal logic or computation tree logic, over a set of atomic propositions. The model checking problem for is the following decision problem. The input is a finite Kripke structure , a state and a formula of . The question is whether .
Remarks
For CTL the problem can be solved in time , where . The algorithm labels the states with the subformulas of that they satisfy, from the innermost subformula outward. For LTL the problem is PSPACE-complete in the size of , and it can be solved in time through a Büchi automaton for .
Example: let , , and . The only path from is , so in LTL, while , since .
An input with an infinite state set is not an instance of this problem as defined here; for such systems the question can be undecidable.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
