Monad in nonstandard topology

Summary

Let XX be a topological space and ∗X{}^*X its extension in nonstandard analysis. The monad of a point xx of XX is the set of points of ∗X{}^*X that are infinitely close to xx. It is the intersection of the nonstandard extensions of all open neighbourhoods of xx. Monads turn topological notions into simple statements about infinitely close points. For example, a space is Hausdorff exactly when distinct points have disjoint monads.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
