Orbital mechanics
Summary
Orbital mechanics, or astrodynamics, is the study of the motion of spacecraft and natural bodies under gravity, with a view to practical problems. It plans launches, orbit changes, rendezvous and interplanetary trajectories. Its basic model is the Kepler orbit of the two-body problem, refined by perturbations and by the thrust of the engines.
