Example
Let be the mass of a particle, the length of the box and the reduced Planck constant. The particle moves on the interval between infinitely high walls. The state space is , and the Hamiltonian is with the Dirichlet boundary conditions . Its eigenfunctions, the stationary states, are
Check: , so . Both boundary conditions hold, since . The normalisation holds, since . These are all eigenfunctions, and they form an orthonormal basis of , the Fourier sine basis.
So the energy is quantised, every state is a bound state, and the lowest energy is strictly positive. A general solution of the Schrödinger equation is with . Since at , every state returns to itself at that time.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
